Bamboo Cutting Boards

Care and Maintenance

A simple wipe up with a damp sponge on a regular basis will maintain its beauty. Food grade mineral oil can also be applied at full strength for regular maintenance. Alkaline soap such as regular dish soap will gradually dull the surface, this usually occurs around the sink area. Howards Naturals Wood Cleaner and Polish will slightly renew the luster if used on a regular basis.

Do NOT put your bamboo boards in the dishwasher or let them soak. The heat and moisture will cause the boards to dry out and crack. Store your bamboo cutting board in a dry area on it's side to prevent any warping.

Removing Stubborn Stains - Bamboo can be sanded down with a fine-grit sandpaper. You can start with a 220 grit and work your way up to as high as 600 grit. Once you have sanded any stains or scratches down you will need to apply a layer of food grade mineral oil.
